If you asked me.....

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I am scared to death of my baby becoming a teenager.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I want to look forward to this year but am fearful it is not going to be a good one.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I am SO ready for baby # 2 but financially we won't be for another 3 years or so....

  • If you asked me, I would tell you that I have a big surprise in my head I would like to do for someone special, I just hope it doesn't end up biting me in the booty....

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I have been asking God for help more lately and I feel so much better.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you that I love my family with all my heart and love being at home with them.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I think I have the best husband in the world but he can still drive me batty!

  • If you asked me, I would tell you that I probably won't find out the sex of future babes before I meet them :)

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I tend to get hurt a lot in friendships, I have wished many times it wasn't that way.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I have serious mixed emotions about Luke being in his own bed at night.

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I have a home improvement project I cannot wait to get done this weekend and I am hoping to get it done! ha!

  • If you asked me, I would tell you I am one lucky girl....

Tidbits for Thursday!

  • Brent told me the other night that he wants another cocker spaniel, I have felt the same way for ages but never said anything because I don't know if it would be the wisest decision for us right now. But I have to wonder if the reason we can't decide on any other breed is because we love cockers so much, or we loved Corben so much, he is the only cocker I have known. So I know we have been on the puppy fence for a while now but don't be surprised if a sweet puppy face pops up on the blog soon ;)

  • Lucas' birthday invite seems to be a tad misleading, oops my bad, so when you get yours, no I am not pregnant ;)

  • With all this driving back and forth to Little Rock these past few months I am becoming a pro driver, I for one never thought I would be saying that and my friends will back me up on that. But really I have learned so much, Brent is a great teacher and with my Tahoe and my new skills I feel like I can take on the world, well at least Rogers Avenue!

  • I am going out to dinner with a few girl friends tomorrow night and I am so stinkin excited! Girl time is few and far between for me and while I love my boys so much I still crave some girly convo!

  • Tonight I am excited to get off work and have nothing to do! 1st time all week, we are ordering pizza and watching Grey's, are we the only ones still watching that show? I will say with Brent's recent accident, that show has be balling almost every week! Some things just hit to close to home.

  • My Scentsy bag party was a complete success! I got $250 in free stuff for a little over $60! So very excited to get it all in and take a picture of my loot :)

  • This winter has been awful with the "sickness" I don't mean flu but all 3 of us have been under the weather for 2 weeks now! snots, sneezing, coughing, congestion, headaches... we have tried a lot of over the counter stuff but nothing seems to help....

  • I have been going to Sunday school for a few weeks now and Brent thinks he will feel good enough to go this Sunday, I am very excited to see where this journey takes us!

  • Luke's birthday and birthday party are a month away today! Whoa where did the time go? And I have so much to get done the next 30 days!

  • With all the bad that has been going on I am so grateful for all the good too and I am so blessed because it could be so much worse. God is SO good!

Life {brought to you my mr. iphone}

I love a good picture post :)

We went to eat at Cheaders last Thursday and Lucas was SO good, I can really tell he is getting out of the toddler years and into being a big boy.

Thirfted some plates for my plate wall! I love plates and am collecting a ton of them right now for various things, the best and only place to get them is at the thrift stores, these were a whopping .50 or less a piece.

Lucas and his "telephones" as he calls them, I do think this is his favorite place in the whole world, in his car seat watching a movie.

Lucas and daddy have been working on him sleeping in his own bed, for 2 nights now he has not been in ours. I am sad but at the same time I know we will all rest better with our own space.

We went to a birthday party last Saturday and the party favors were goldfish! ha!

So this is Charlie Lucas picked him out and named him. He seems to be loving his new home!

Tuesday night was Mema C's surprise 80th birthday party, and was she surprised! It was so much fun! Complete with dancing, a band, and lots of food! So many folks have been blessed to know her, makes me so proud that she is my mema :)

And that's it folks, we have a super busy weekend ahead of us and I can't wait!

Brent's Accident {Part 3}

I hope this is the last 'part' of the accident series :)

Well I left off last time with good news but since then we have a little bump in the road. Brent was not able to go back to work on the 23rd. He had been having some major headaches and blurred vision so we went back to see Dr. Brock, the eye surgeon on the 23rd.
He thought it may be nerve damage which is very scary, and one of the ways to fix nerve damage is surgery.
We were a bit discouraged to hear this and not looking forward to driving back up to little rock yesterday the 25th, not fun.

Dr. Brock referred us to Dr. Choko at UAMS our appointment was at 3:30 and it rained all the way there.
Dr. Chocko ran a bunch of tests and concluded that there is no nerve damage and he says all is normal for only being 3 weeks post op! That was a huge relief, he says that it will just take time for Brent to start seeing normal and to just rest and do a little every day.

We left feeling so grateful and all the driving didn't seem so bad to get to hear him say that.

So once again things are on the up and up and I am just praying they stay that way and we can get him feeling good again.
Thank you so much for all the prayers they are truly working and I feel so blessed to have such an awesome bunch of family and friends.

2012 To Do's!

This year I did not set any resolutions per say. It has been so crazy at my house this last month I didn't have the energy nor did I care to much to worry about it. And lets face it my resolutions would be the same as they were last year; save money, eat better, yadda yadda. Which never turns out pretty! ha!

But with my house starting to settle down I have been brain storming about what I want to get out of 2012! Of course I want to try and be the best person I can be but this year I also want to really tackle my house! The year of the home redo is what I told Brent :) he just rolls his eyes!

But really I want to set goals, put a set amount in savings and by my deadline I want to get them DONE!!
Nothing major just some room spiff ups O and all new floors thought out, haha!

So here is my list, I know some will get done and some will not get done but I am going to try really hard this year!

{front/boys bathroom redo}
new window mistreatment
3 new hooks under the window for towels

new lighting

frame mirror

move towel rod to back of door
replace old style hand towel ring with hook
new floor (maybe?)
(see nothing to it ;)

{luke's room}
sand down and paint my ol childhood bed for him
get new mattress
shelves up for his piggy bank collection
t.v. up on the wall
better closet system

{spare/craft/nursery room}
major purge of all that we don't need
organize
set closet up for all my chotchkeys
new carpet

{living/everything room}
new flooring
try and convince Brent to move screen doors around once and for all!!
gallery wall (maybe?)

{kitchen}
new floors
new counter tops
new back splash
paint cabinets
take ugly molding down above sink
paint
new light(s)
new system for pots and pans
install pantry (maybe?)

{laundry nook}
paint and rearrange cabinets
put a table/folding board atop of the washer and dryer
paint walls

wowie like I said I know that all that getting done is unlikely but I want to try and it feels so good to write it down!

So now who wants to come help me? ;)

Instagrams!

Gosh it has been so long since I have really "blogged" I can't even seem to begin a good sentence.
Here is a recap of my last several weeks in instagram pics, I love instagram I think the pictures come out so pretty.

I really hope to do a post about our Christmas Vacay and Christmas eve and day but if I'm being honest I just don't know if I will ever get around to it but I wanted to post this real quick like ;)

Christmas tin of popcorn!
I LOVE these things! This year it has become a tradition to have at least one of these sitting out for the season. Luke shares my love for yummy popcorn and my mom got us a tin from the Popcorn Co. so we can have good popcorn for years to come!

O my this boy!
Lucas loves the Tahoe and declares his love for it almost daily,ha, wonder where he got that ;)
He just loves putting those headphones on and getting lost in a movie.

Neat plate holder/display deal that was in our condo in Branson.
Might have to get Brent to make me one someday....

Lucas in the bathtub in Branson playing with a plastic cup, being a good mommy is improvising when you forgot bath toys while on vacation ;)

Chip our crazy,annoying,hairy, but we love him so much cat.

Christmas gifts for the kiddos! Applesauce!

Luke and one of his many Christmas gifts.

Santa's cookies!

Lucas on Christmas morning.

One of my Christmas gifts from Brent.

Necklace and an amazing jewelry box he made.

Love my new towel from sweet Jessica.

Laundry basket and quilt.

I've spent a lot of time at home this last month and while I don't really like the reason I have been home, it has been nice to be there with who matters most and to reflect on so much.

My Paper Whites bloomed just when I needed them most :)

Lucas asked for a hair cut.

My baby is getting so big!

I've been wearing theses a lot hanging around the house, love em!

Brent's Accident {Part 2}

Tuesday January 3rd was Brent's eye surgery.

All went as planned in the surgery and the doctor was very pleased with the results, the surgery only took about 30 min of the hour the doctor said it would but recovery was a lot rougher than expected. Brent was in so much pain and it was just awful not to mention we had to drive back home from Little Rock right in rush hour traffic. NOT FUN!

But we made it!
The first couple of days were awful. They really were so bad he was hurting so bad and there was nothing I could do for him. That has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world. I stayed home with him for the first few days but had to get back to work after that. The pain was still really significant when we went back a week later for his check up.

Wednesday January 11th was his check up day and we were relieved to find out all is well! The pain he was/is having is normal. The doctor said all should be well enough for him to go back to work on the 23rd!

Every day since the check up has been better and better.

He has been up and moving around every day and Sunday we even went out to dinner for the first time since all this!
We got back out again yesterday for lunch and ran some errands. We went by the shop to drop off some paper work and he got to see his ol truck. It looks and smells awful and is a hard reminder of what could of been.

I am so happy to have my husband back and on the mend. I am so grateful he is here and will return back to his old self soon. And I cannot thank everyone enough for their prayers and support though this whole thing.
God is so good and I am thanking Him every day.
