{Ramblings}

Life....

Isn't life funny.... and completely amazing and exhausting and wonderful!

Growing up I thought adult life was full of rainbows and tons of fun! I just knew I would marry a rich guy and have lots of kids and lots of pets. That's what my Barbies had anyway.

As I turned into a teenager I thought I would go off to college and make a career for myself, I never knew what it would be but it was what everyone else planned to do so it sounded pretty good.

During high school I started working at a home decor store at the mall and completely fell in love with decorating. When I graduated I started working full time and taking on more responsibilities at the store but thought I was still "supposed" to go to collage so I enrolled at the local collage and took some night classes, never going far at school at all. But I sure loved working, I loved decorating even more and started to learn about myself. I learned collage wasn't for me, I learned I like to work and I am good at it but most of all I realized I wanted a home and a family.

All this to say sometimes where we end up is no where close to how we thought it would be. I don't have the prefect marriage, I don't have a big house, Lucas is a boy and makes messes daily,my pets drive me batty, and some days are just flat out hard!

But with all the hard and all the messes I am so thankful this is my life. I love my passionate husband, I love my little house because it's ours, I love that Lucas wants to learn by doing things himself, I love my fur babies so very much, I love the way things have turned out for me, I am so very blessed.

Recently I have had to take a step back, a step back from my extracurricular activities, a step back from social networking, a step back from trying to be perfect, that is the hardest one for me. I want everything to be perfect. I was doing pretty good until a few days before Luke's birthday party. I kept telling myself "it's not going to be perfect so don't break your back trying to make it that way" but I failed, big time, I took everything out on Brent and we were at each other's throats all weekend, I worked really hard on Friday and was exhausted, and I hate that I did that to myself, I hate that I did that to us.

What I can say is that I have learned from this. I will spend the next month making it up to Brent and next year I will try again. Because no one is perfect and one thing is for sure I will never be.

Lucas You Are 3!!

Oh my sweet baby, are we really here? are you really turning 3 today!? I can hardly believe it!

3 years ago today at 6:08 p.m. we were blessed beyond measure, you were born and our hearts were changed forever.

Lucas you are such a good boy, your Dad and I love you more than life and I hope you will always know that.

You are so smart and so caring to others. You make us laugh every single day! You love all kinds of people and rarely meet a stranger, you are such a joy! You make my heart explode with your hugs and snuggles and your "it's ok momma" when you think I'm hurt or sad.

You try my patiences when you want to do everything yourself and your fits if things just aren't the way you think they should be.
You love your family and your pets (even thought I'm convinced you've almost loved Cooper to death some days) and you love your friends at school and your teacher so much. You get along with anyone and everyone and you think everyone was put here to be your friend. I hope you always have this way with people, you will be such a blessing to others with this gift.

I pray you never let judgement from others change you.

You love to play basketball and love your cars.

Happy Birthday sweet boy!
Love, momma

My Weekend {in pictures well of course}

We started off our weekend early with a little fun!
Thursday after school we went and got a car wash! Lucas loves doing this, it's so funny!

Then we got to go to a little bounce place in town with Ethan for a little while! We had a lot of fun! Of course the boys found a basketball and only really wanted to play with that the entire time, ha!

Friday night Brent had to stay out of town for work so we got to try out "Facetime" for the first time since he's had his iPhone 4, all I can say is so. much. fun. I really enjoyed being able to see him and Lucas loved it too!

Saturday we checked the mail and Lucas had Birthday card from some out of town family and look what was inside! He was very excited!

Gotta have a picture of this cute boy :)

Nap time for Luke and I got a lot done around the house for the upcoming birthday bash!!

O this puppy! So sweet lookin but quite the little terror and we haven't even hit the chewing stage yet!

Saturday evening I worked on some pom poms for the party, Brent thinks they are girly so I'm not sure if I will use them or not but they were fun to make and SO easy!

Lounging around Sunday morning watching cartoons.

Ethan came over to play Sunday afternoon this was a rare shot of them being sweet, ha!

Last night we grilled burgers and Brent had some guys over to watch some racing, I got banned to the bedroom but that was OK by me, got to watch some shows in peace and quiet with my puppy :)

We had a great weekend, I have a long week ahead of me in preparation for Luke's Birthday weekend coming up!

What more could a girl ask for......

Valentines Day at my house is not far from any other day but just with a little added fun!

Lucas had his big Valentines Party at school complete with ice cream and bunches of candy! He loved getting to tote his valentine box home to show daddy :)

We got home and I had picked up dinner and a few treats for my Valentines.
We had Popeye's Chicken for dinner ( yes you read that right) ha! Brent loves it and we hadn't had it in a while and I picked up some brownies and cookies from the Cookie Co. Lucas also got a balloon with some cars tied to it. He was very happy!

Brent has been sick with the flu the past few days but still managed to get out and get me flowers and a card, so sweet!

My favorite!

We ate an early dinner and really didn't do anything exciting. I wanted to do some laundry and wash our bed to try and prevent some germs spreading. I got the bed washed and put back together and was watching the last episode of Teen Mom 2 (embarrassing) and had both pups on the bed. I saw Coop sniffing around and thought ok just wait for commerical and I will take him out. Well needless to say he didn't get the memo! Pee peed right on Brent's side of the JUST washed sheets! As tempted as I was to leave it, being Brent's side and not mine, I didn't. I was SO mad! I could have cried but went back to my show: and watching that train wreck made my problems seem hardly there. So never the less I was doing laundry until 11 on Valentines night ;)

Valentine's bad boy!

A face only a momma could love.

Cooper seems very interested in Chloe's tail sometimes I swear I can see him thinking "where's mine at?)

This morning was Brent's unofficial first day back at work, he finally felt good enough to try and go. I think him going back will bring some order back into our life, I could be wrong! ha!

This morning as I was in Luke's room picking out his clothes I stepped on something cold and wet! Puppy poo! O my word all I could do was laugh. Brent cleaned it off my foot for me, I thought that was pretty romantic :)

So all in all I had a wonderful Valentines Day! Flowers, cards, time with my loves, a little work, a little yuck and some romance.
What more could a girl ask for......

Our Love Story

In honor of Valentine's day I wanted to talk about my hubby a little bit and thought it would be fun to join in for a linky party!

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

This October will be 5 years!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

{Short Version}

Brent and I met though mutual friends, we both went to their party, didn't talk much at all that night but he ran into said friend at an event here in town a few weeks later and asked if he could have my number he called me that same night and we made plans to go out the next night, I knew after that first night he was mine! The rest is history I suppose....

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

We will be married 3 years this August!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

We had a very intimate wedding in Branson, Mo with just a few close friends and family members.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

Of course, I call him Hunny Bunny, and he calls me Honey, baby, and being parents we call each other momma and daddy too. Ha!

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

I love that he is so determined, I love that he is funny and that he is so easy for me to talk to.

I love that we can "fight" and argue and then 10 minutes later neither one of us remembers why we were! ha!

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

Also in Branson, at the Branson Landing (one of our favorite places) in front of the big water show (water shooting, fire, and music) on a park bench with Micheal Buble playing in the background just the two of us. We were there with family and that was so fun to be able to celebrate with them after.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

Flowers for sure!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Both I guess, we love to travel and be on the beach but day to day we are a movie couple :)

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

O gosh there is so many places we want to go together!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

Hummm probably not much we might be able to sneak away on the weekend for a date.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

I asked for the new Twilight movie and got it! :)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Wow, I surely don't know a whole lot but talking and really listening works so well for us!

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you

Oh Monday....

We had quite the low key weekend! Friday night we went to Brent's parent's house to eat dinner and Lucas stayed the night with Pawpa and Nana.
Saturday I cleaned house and Brent did some things around the shop, that evening we had family over for Pawpa's birthday. Sunday Brent worked on his truck and I went to the grocery store, fun stuff! I love nothing more than staying home and doing laundry with my boys. Seriously!

But today, Monday....
It was Brent's first day back to work and he woke up with 102 fever, Lucas ran fever Saturday afternoon/evening so I think that is where that came from. Then the snow came, so I knew it would be a late morning anyway but I go out to start my car it the battery is dead! We got it charged up and it started fine. Not to mention it was Cooper's first time with snow and he loved it, Chloe loves snow too so getting them inside took a while!

But all is good! We made it safe and all the way to school Lucas told me how much he loved snow and didn't even ask to watch a movie.

Life sure is sweet!

Lots of puppy pictures! Hate me. ;)

Smiling puppy!

Chuck E. Cheese night for school! I love that Lucas can really play some games and gets excited about Chucky!

Got to eat some yummy On the Boarder for lunch while in Little Rock this week!

Lucas playing at McDonald's with Papaw and Nana.

This picture is so funny to me! They both look so serious! Handsome but serious! Well as serious as a puppy can look with boozo style hair ha!

Tidbits for Thursday!

  • Firstly I have to report we went to Brent's final doctors appointment yesterday! All is well and he will return to work Monday! We are both so ready for that!

  • I have to say I am loving my free trial of satellite radio! I am such a 90's girl and am loving hearing all those songs! I am not sure this free trial won't have me sucked into buying :)

  • It has been almost 10 weeks since my last hair appointment and honestly it doesn't look that bad (maybe I am blind?), I usually only try and go 8 weeks between color but the recommended amount of time is 6, hummm I am now thinking I will for sure up it to 10 weeks at a time, think of all the money I will save ;)

  • Cooper is seriously the best puppy I have ever had, he is doing excellent in his crate at night and when we are gone and he is really catching onto the potty training thing! I have to wonder though if it's because I have the time to dedicate to him, unlike when we got Corben and I so sick with morning sickness and when I got Chloe and was only 17 and puppy training probably wasn't my first priority. But he seems pretty smart and I am proud!

  • Tonight Lucas' school has a fundraiser at Chuck E. Cheese and I am probably just as excited as he is! Even with the bad pizza and dirty sock smell I still love that place!

  • I only have 2 Saturdays before Luke's big day and have almost nothing done! Oh well a few late nights right before the big day and it will all be great! I seem to work best under pressure with all things crafty!

  • We are seeing a new refrigerator in out future I. could. not. be. more. excited!!!!

  • The Tahoe got her first "ding" this past weekend, and no it wasn't me! Praise the Lord!! Brent was backing out of the garage and the door got stuck and he backed into it. It was an honest mistake but I can't help giving him a hard time about it! It only damaged the top brake light, we ordered the part and it showed up yesterday. She will be good as new after the weekend.

  • Lucas learned the popular song "who let the dogs out" via Brent yesterday and love to sing it now, which I guess is appropriate at our house but this morning he told me he was going to sing it for his friends at school! Crack me up!

  • Well that is about all in my little world, or all that I want to share :) Hope everyone has a great week!!!

{Meet Cooper}

Our Sweet 6 week old chocolate cocker spaniel.
He was Brent and Luke's valentines gift from me.
He was born 2 days before Christmas or 3 days after Brent's accident.

He has been such a good baby, I went and got him Friday afternoon from Ozark. The lady I got him from was so very sweet and loved all those babies.

He has adjusted very well to our family for being so young. He eats, a lot and plays hard but sleeps most of the day. He loves to just snuggle right now and wants to be held all. the. time.

I seriously keep thinking why haven't they invented puppy slings, because I can't get anything done! ha!

There has been such an empty hole in my nest since we lost Corben a year ago, he is just what we needed to fill it a little bit.

Cooper is about the size of a guinea pig. He already has taken to the potty training thing, he whines when he needs to go out and runs to the back door, I for one and completely amazed by this.

We are crate training and that isn't going as well. We just can't stand to hear him cry and one of us has spent the night on the couch with him since I brought him home :/ but we had the same thing happen when we had Corben and after a few hard nights he loved his cage, so we are going to keep at it.

He looks a lot like Corben and Brent was really taken back by that. He was really sad at first because of it.

Lucas really loves him and I think they are going to be fast friends. They play until Cooper is just pooped out, in a few weeks they will really be able to play and run outside :)

But this one; she is very mad at me, she did not want a new puppy. Hopefully with some extra love and treats she will come around.

So that in a nut shell was my weekend, I spent a lot of time sitting on the couch and holding a puppy and taking lots of pictures, doesn't get any better than that!

We are completely in love with little Cooper, I hope he has a long, healthy, and happy life with us.
