Another Year Older.....

I had the very best birthday yesterday! At work we always do 'birthday parties' for each other and I honestly look forward to that every year! It consists of a lot of food, my favorite!

My sweet friend Jessica got me this Brighton charm with bracelet! It's Lucas' birthstone, I love it so much and cannot wait to add more charms and beads to it! So cute and fun!

Last night we went to Joe's Cantina for my family birthday dinner. I am so thankful to have family who likes to celebrate with me! We had such a fun dinner!


Lucas provided the entertainment for dinner as always!

The picture at the very top, me in the birthday hat, Mema C. brings that to every one's birthday and we always have to take a picture with it on! The men folk in the family will request NOT to go out to dinner just so they don't have to wear the birthday hat in public! So funny!

I got a lot of other nice gifts yesterday too, I am so lucky to be turning 24 and still get such great gifts! My brother even got me a gift card to my favorite palace, Hob Lob of course!

AND I cannot forget about all my sweet text messages, phone calls, and facebook posts! I have such good friends and family!

Last night my husband 'prank' called one of his co-workers with this toy of Lucas'. Hilarious!! I was rolling!
If you have never seen one of these or heard them 'talk' you are seriously missing out! I honestly don't even know what they are called but next time your in Wally world do your self a favor and go play with one, trust me you won't be the only 'adult' doing it!

Happy Birthday to me!

What's happenin at my house......

• Brent is doing well at his new/old job. He seems to like it and hasn't had to stay the night out of town any yet, knock on wood!! He has had some super early mornings, like 4:30 am early, that we've all had to get used to so we are all pretty tired most days but we are getting in the grove!



• Lucas has been pee peeing in the potty a lot these past few days! I got him the little potty they use at school and that seems to have done the trick! He doesn't fuss to go and he doesn't sit there and play he actually uses it every time we put him on it! I cannot believe I have a potty trainer!!!



• My job at the bank is going good, nothing good to report but nothing bad either, just how I like it! Calm and steady, ha!



• I am still working in the Nursery at Church on Wednesday evenings and will continue though June. I love getting to go there every week to see the kids and I love the ladies there too!



• I had my very first meeting last night as a GracePlace board member! I love having this opportunity to get involved in Lucas' school. It was so interesting last night, I will be serving at least 3 years!



• I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on our finances!! I am so happy about this, what a weight to be lifted to not have to worry to much about money. We definitely live within our means but there were some really rough months this past year and I am glad we are putting that behind us and will get to do more fun things as a family.



• We are considering getting Lucas a "real" big boy bed in the next week or two, a twin size. His room is going to look so different and he is growing up to fast :(



• I have had in the past two weeks countless people ask me when are we going to have another baby?! I guess when kids hit 2 you should start working on #2? I don't know? But we are waiting until Lucas is at least 3 to even start to think about another. Yes I want more kids, yes I want them to be close, but I want some time with Lucas before I go rocking his world. My next 2 will be much closer in age (I think) so I want to spend some years it just being us 3, a small, easy family, ha! And I would love for Lucas to be out of daycare, I would like to have all our debt gone, I would like to have a chunky savings account, and I would like for our house to be mostly paid for. So these things are going to take us a few more years and I am fine with that! So there ya go! I'm considering getting this printing on a shirt :)



• Brent has been dropping a few tiny hints about getting another dog, O man! I have my preferences of course! I would love another little Chloe or even another Cocker but I would really like a Caviler King Charles, I doubt Brent would go for that! Ha! Puppy talk makes me giddy :)

• I am loving the Nesters new site/blog it is so neat and beyond informative!

• This weekend I am having a yard sale! Yay! I just hope I don't roast in the near 100 degree heat!!!

Baby Shower Weekend!

Well it finally has come and gone! The baby shower that I have been planning for months now! I have been so excited and had lots of fun putting it together. I hope Desiree enjoyed and I cannot wait to meet little Eviee!!

Friday before the shower I had a bunch of errands to run to gather all the food and some last minute items. I went to Target to find a cardi to go over the dress I was going to wear and ran into these pants! I have been dying for some linen pants and these were perfect! (Love my little Chloe in the background :)

I got a few things to spruce up my living room. Thrifty Decor Chick talked about these beauties last week and I had to have one!

I bought this chair slip cover at Pier1, I loved the pattern but didn't want to buy their expensive chair to put it on, I remembered I had this goodwill chair in my craft room that I painted last summer, added a pillow to the seat and put the slip on! Now she looks gorgeous ;)

Chloe got her summer hair cut on Friday as well. She looks so funny without her long hair, but it's almost hitting 100 here so I know she doesn't mind looking a little funny! Ha!

Friday evening one of Brent's very best friends got married! This is what I wore, also from Target! Score!

The wedding was so pretty! Simple and so much fun! I had a great time, all Brent's old buddies and their wives/dates sat at the same table, I have never got to hang out with them before and it was alot of fun! Looking forward to some get together's soon!

Saturday after the shower I went a jewelry party at Jessica's! She is the best hostess! I know she doesn't think she is but she should have people over all the time! Her food table was beautiful I'm so mad at myself for not taking pictures! The party was alot of fun! And I cannot wait for my necklace to come in!

Saturday when I got home Lucas was napping so Brent and I decided to take a nap while we could, we didn't get up until 6pm! I love getting a nap every once in awhile.

Brent 's parent's and uncles came over for late evening cook out. And Brent's cousin Sara and her boys came over for a little bit too. Lucas absolutely loves his cousins Noah and Christian. He had to show them all kinds of stuff, poor boys!

Sunday we got up late and went and ate at Marketplace and ran around town for a bit before coming home. We lounged around the house until the sun went down then went outside and did alittle yard work.

I am also proud to announce that Lucas can now ride his power wheels without any help!! He is getting so big! Sometimes I look at him and he looks like a kid! Not a toddler or baby at all! I miss having a baby.....

My Weekend and Then Some.....

We did not do much in the way of 'Memorial Day' weekend this year but we had a fun long weekend around the house.

Friday evening after work I went to work in the Nursery for "Date Night". The kids were so good! And we had a fun time playing on the playground and eating pizza.


Lucas got to stay with Daddy and this was one of the pictures I got while I was away. :)



Saturday Brent went to the racetrack to play around for the day and Luke and I went to McDonald's for lunch and to play in the play place. He hadn't been in a very long time, last time we went he really couldn't play at all but he was so proud of him self for going all the way though it and he would come down the slide saying "Mommy I did it" he is getting so big.

We went to Hob Lob to pick up some last minute shower things then went home for a nap.

We've needed somewhere for all our shoes, bags, umbrellas, and just everyday things that usually get thrown on the table so I made this our little 'mud area' right outside the door to the garage. I am really liking it.

Saturday Lucas informed me he was riding his 'motorcycle' wearing his 'helmet' I laughed so hard!


Another funny one. Lucas in his 'Woody boots' on the wrong feet, but he put them on himself and he was so proud.

I've been wanting some big rocks for my flower bed so Sunday Brent retrieved these from his dad's land.

Nothing better than my hubby moving big rocks! I love him!

Monday afternoon Brent was told he would be in Conway for the week for work. Lucas helped daddy pack of course. They got the job done that day so he didn't have to stay after all. I was glad. I don't mind Brent being out of town but I sure do like it when he's home :)

I have ANOTHER 3 day weekend this weekend, I am taking off work tomorrow to get everything ready for the baby shower Saturday! Then the rest of my weekend I will be at the racetrack with my family. I can't wait!
