Darn Dogs

Ok folks I am dealing with a serious issue. Well maybe this isn't serious to most but to me it really kinda is.
It's my dogs.
My sweet, loving, drive me crazy fur babies.
But wait I shouldn't say it like that because it really is only Cooper who drives me nuts. Chloe is and always will be an angel in my eyes ha! Although I think she does eg Cooper on some days.

Here is the thing, I love Cooper he is so very sweet and loves us and especially Lucas to pieces but he has turned out to be a lot of work. I know what did I expect with a new puppy and a 3 year old.
Last night I got the wild idea to put him up for "adoption" on a facebook page for pets. Well I didn't sleep a wink, I was up all night and I just wanted to go get him out of his crate and tell him I was so sorry.

I think I have mentioned this before but growing up mom taught me once an animal comes into your home you keep them, we NEVER got "rid" of animals and I honestly can't even stand that term. So Cooper would have been my first animal to part with like that.

When I got up this morning I took the post off the facebook page, I just can't do it.

With Brent's job he's out of town a lot, usually at least once a week but during the busy times it can be up to 3 times in one week! So all the house, pet, kid stuff falls on me and me only those days/nights and I am not going to lie it gets really overwhelming.

But the thought of one of my babies wondering what they did and why I don't want them anymore is more overwhelming than that.

So a new plan of action has occurred to me, I will spend more time with Cooper, keep taking him on his walks and rewarding him more with treats when he does good things. I am really going to have to make a conscious effort to do this but I will do my very best.

I guess what I am trying to say is I've come to my senses and I'm going to try and learn to take the bad with good.

Any advise on dealing with a full house?  Am I the only one who feels this way?

Yard Sale Weekend!

We have been thinking about getting a new 4 legged addition to our family for about a week now. We have decided on a Caviler King Charles Spaniel, they are very similar to a Cocker but don't as big and said to be much better with kids. I found this little guy online last week and it took everything I have not to just buy him right over the phone! But they do cost a little bit more than a cocker so we are waiting a few weeks to really think it though. But isn't he the cutest! I could just eat him up with a spoon!

Saturday was Yard Sale Day! We had a great turn out and was only selling until 2pm because of rain but I did very well and only had a few boxes of stuff leftover to donate :) I was so happy!

Sunday Ethan came over to play while his mommy and daddy moved their stuff to the new house! The boys had so much fun!

Blowing bubbles.

Then they talked me into giving them cakeballs :)

They played and ran around the house the whole time, I think they both had a blast!

Last night Brent's parents came over and we grilled hamburgers and chicken and Brent made homemade french fries. Honestly to me this is the only good thing about summer. Ha!

Chloe always waiting for a something to drop!

I was watching t.v. in the bedroom last night and I look over and see this:

Lucas was "hiddin" in the corner between the dresser and nightstand with a ton of pillows and a big red bag! I guess he made himself a little fort! Gosh he growing up SO fast!

What's happenin at my house......

  • Brent is doing well at his new/old job. He seems to like it and hasn't had to stay the night out of town any yet, knock on wood!! He has had some super early mornings, like 4:30 am early, that we've all had to get used to so we are all pretty tired most days but we are getting in the grove!

  • Lucas has been pee peeing in the potty a lot these past few days! I got him the little potty they use at school and that seems to have done the trick! He doesn't fuss to go and he doesn't sit there and play he actually uses it every time we put him on it! I cannot believe I have a potty trainer!!!

  • My job at the bank is going good, nothing good to report but nothing bad either, just how I like it! Calm and steady, ha!

  • I am still working in the Nursery at Church on Wednesday evenings and will continue though June. I love getting to go there every week to see the kids and I love the ladies there too!

  • I had my very first meeting last night as a GracePlace board member! I love having this opportunity to get involved in Lucas' school. It was so interesting last night, I will be serving at least 3 years!

  • I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on our finances!! I am so happy about this, what a weight to be lifted to not have to worry to much about money. We definitely live within our means but there were some really rough months this past year and I am glad we are putting that behind us and will get to do more fun things as a family.

  • We are considering getting Lucas a "real" big boy bed in the next week or two, a twin size. His room is going to look so different and he is growing up to fast :(

  • I have had in the past two weeks countless people ask me when are we going to have another baby?! I guess when kids hit 2 you should start working on #2? I don't know? But we are waiting until Lucas is at least 3 to even start to think about another. Yes I want more kids, yes I want them to be close, but I want some time with Lucas before I go rocking his world. My next 2 will be much closer in age (I think) so I want to spend some years it just being us 3, a small, easy family, ha! And I would love for Lucas to be out of daycare, I would like to have all our debt gone, I would like to have a chunky savings account, and I would like for our house to be mostly paid for. So these things are going to take us a few more years and I am fine with that! So there ya go! I'm considering getting this printing on a shirt :)

  • Brent has been dropping a few tiny hints about getting another dog, O man! I have my preferences of course! I would love another little Chloe or even another Cocker but I would really like a Caviler King Charles, I doubt Brent would go for that! Ha! Puppy talk makes me giddy :)

  • I am loving the Nesters new site/blog it is so neat and beyond informative!

  • This weekend I am having a yard sale! Yay! I just hope I don't roast in the near 100 degree heat!!!

Have a good rest of the week!!
