Fun Summer Weekend!

We had another very low key weekend, it's just to hot to do anything around here! 106 on Saturday! Nuts!!

Friday Lucas want over to stay with Genia and my uncle again, this is getting to be a every week deal and we are all loving it! Genia spoils Lucas rotten so of course he loves spending time with her and everyday since Friday he has said "I go to Genia's" I have to say no not today maybe soon :) Brent and I went out to eat at Maria's, it's a Mexican place we used to eat at all. the. time. when we lived in Ft. Smith, it brings back so many good memories, you know like when we were young and carefree and didn't have any worries of the "real world". We had fun, ate dinner and did some shopping then went to get Lucas.

Saturday Lucas and I got up bright and early and headed to the grocery store to get ingredients to make an ice cream cake for a cookout we were going to that evening. Then we spent the rest of the day doing nothing, Brent watched t.v., I cleaned, and Lucas napped and played.

Ice Cream Cake!

At about 4:00 we headed to the cookout and it was HOT! It was with a new playgroup that Lucas and I joined and they were having a cookout for the whole family so the husbands and older siblings could come and play too! We had a great time and the girls were so nice! I can't wait to hang out with them more!

There was kiddie pool and sprinkler set up for the little ones. And there was a ton of good food! Like I said we all had fun! ha!

Ethan and Lucas in the pool.

Sunday we didn't do anything until 6:30 pm! We went and ate at Beef 'O' Brady's with Brent's parents then made a trip to Wally World! Lucas loves Wal-Mart especially when Daddy goes with us, he lets him get out of the cart and "play" with all the toys, mostly pushing all the buttons.

Let me just say that this kid is the love of my life and I seriously cannot wait to have a house full of little ones just like him!

Also I really appreciate the working mom's posts at Stafford Stories this week! I know a lot of

times for me it seems like all mom's in blog land are stay at home moms, it's refreshing to see women going through the same stuff I do on a daily basis and getting ideas from others too!

Have a great week!

4th of July Weekend!

We had a very, very low key holiday this year! We were all together and that's what truly matters most to me :) Brent didn't have to work one single hour in 3 days and we both so happy to be home!

Just have to say my Thirty-One party went fantastic! Having it at Pizza Warehouse was so simple and so fun!! Thank you to all that came! I can't wait to see all the stuff when it gets in!

Since we didn't do much of anything I don't have much to share I have a few pictures but we mostly stayed inside and watched t.v. and a movie(!) and I cleaned house/did laundry and ate a bunch of junk food!

Yes that is my child sorting gummy bears in the floor with the dog! What can ya do!?

Friday night Brent and I took Lucas over to David's and Genia's and we went and did some shopping and went to eat at Joe's Pasta, love that place!! It was a much needed time for just us and we enjoyed it! I cannot thank Genia enough for always wanting Lucas to come over so Brent and I (or just I) can go do something.

Saturday Brent went to get a hair cut so Luke and I went to McDonald's for a tea and to play since it was right next door, we stayed there a while then went to Wally World for diapers/wipes, movies, and some stuff for a get-together we would be going to on Monday. That night we grilled steak and chicken on the grill and played in the yard.

Lucas at Micky D's.

Sunday afternoon Luke and I went to Ethan's to play and to see his new house. That evening we went to a firework stand and then on to meet some family at Beef O Brady's for dinner and then went back home to shoot some fireworks with them and Ethan and his family came over too!

The boys LOVED the "snakes" and the smoke bombs they hated when Brent would light one of the cars or trains on fire to shoot! They liked the sparklers ok too. Brent did some big ones when it got dark and they didn't care to much for those either! Maybe next year they will like them better, I think all the adults enjoyed the show, Ha!

4th of July (Monday) we went down to the square in Greenwood, they had tons of bounce arounds, a craft fair, food, music, a helicopter landing for the kids, all kinds of things going on! We stayed for a while and let Lucas play and watch the helicopter then went home for a nap. That evening we had a get-together with Brent's side of the family then went back to the square for fireworks!

Cute cake Brent's aunt Danna made! So yummy too!

Sweet little Marley all dressed up for the festivities!

Such a fun weekend I was sad to see Tuesday roll around!

Pool Party Weekend!

We had a fun weekend even though Brent was only there for part of it :( but that's just how things are right now.

Friday evening I took Lucas over to stay with my uncle David, Genia, and my mom at Genia's house. Her hydrangeas are beautiful! Even if they are a little sun burnt they were picture worthy, I hope mine grow to be this big!

Lucas had a great time and I went to the mall for some 'Me' time complete with a pedicure and some shopping I have not been to the mall by myself for myself in a very long time! It was fun just shopping and not 'be-ing'
a mommy for an hour.

Sent this pic to Brent and he said ' I need one of those foot things too' Ha! I laughed out loud! But yes he does, he defiantly deserves one!

Saturday Lucas, mom, and I went to lunch and then to Wal-Mart to get Lucas a little pool! He was so excited, I also got him some popsicles, the flavor ice ones, I think. Let me tell you what eating one of those brings back memories! Yummm I don't think another summer will go by without those in my freezer untill all my babies graduate highschool!

Ethan came over for a quick dip Saturday and came back Sunday for a while too! These two have so much fun together!

Cute toes! I NEVER get any color on my toenails, usually just get french but decided I would this time and I love it! So fun in the summer, I'm even loving the color at work!

The boy's eating lunch on Sunday. They both ate so good after 'swimming'

Brent got home Saturday night and we spent Sunday just lounging around the house! It was so nice to have a relaxing weekend and not do much!

Wednesday is my last nursery night at church and Thursday is my Thirty-One party and after that I am done for the summer!! Only thing I'm planning is to be at work everyday, nothing else! And I especially can't wait for my week off work in August! I love spending my days with Lucas even if they are roller coaster rides ;)

The Three Musketeers!

Last night Luke and I went to the McDonald's Playplace with a few friends! The kids played for hours it was so nice!

We had originally planned to go to Chick-fil-a but they were having a daddy daughter date night and it was packed! So we went to the next best place.

Ethan coming down the slide.

Olivia coming down the slide! She is almost a full year younger than Lucas but she kept up with the boys!

Yard Sale Weekend!

We have been thinking about getting a new 4 legged addition to our family for about a week now. We have decided on a Caviler King Charles Spaniel, they are very similar to a Cocker but don't as big and said to be much better with kids. I found this little guy online last week and it took everything I have not to just buy him right over the phone! But they do cost a little bit more than a cocker so we are waiting a few weeks to really think it though. But isn't he the cutest! I could just eat him up with a spoon!

Saturday was Yard Sale Day! We had a great turn out and was only selling until 2pm because of rain but I did very well and only had a few boxes of stuff leftover to donate :) I was so happy!

Sunday Ethan came over to play while his mommy and daddy moved their stuff to the new house! The boys had so much fun!

Blowing bubbles.

Then they talked me into giving them cakeballs :)

They played and ran around the house the whole time, I think they both had a blast!

Last night Brent's parents came over and we grilled hamburgers and chicken and Brent made homemade french fries. Honestly to me this is the only good thing about summer. Ha!

Chloe always waiting for a something to drop!

I was watching t.v. in the bedroom last night and I look over and see this:

Lucas was "hiddin" in the corner between the dresser and nightstand with a ton of pillows and a big red bag! I guess he made himself a little fort! Gosh he growing up SO fast!

Tastefully Simple and a Playdate.

Since Blogger went ka-pooey this post is.. O about 3 days late! Ha!

Thursday my Tastefully Simple orders came in and I had to share all my goodies!

There are 9 loaves of bread in there people!! We ate some this weekend but I still have plenty! Having a party is so so worth you time, just a little secret, I got all this for around 20 bucks! I may have to do a party every season just to keep myself stocked! Ha!

Also Thursday evening Luke and I had a play date to attend! Yay!We love seeing all our friends it really makes my day to see all our "babies" who are now preschoolers playing so good to together. The days of crying, spitting up, and bottles are past us and its amazing that I've got to see these little ones grow.

Lucas and Olivia.

We played at Olivia's aka Miranda's :) So Lucas had to round up all her cars and put them in a bucket the exact same thing he does at home. So funny.

Sweet sweet girl. Olivia used to be so shy and didn't care much for people at all, now she is so outgoing and waves and smiles to everyone!

Ethan, Lucas, and Olivia.

Gotta love the attempt to get a pictures with these three.

Playing some more....

Ashley, Miranda, and I got Chilies to go and watched American Idol while these 3 had fun.

It was so nice! I honestly can't believe how far we've come!

We had fun, its always nice to see these girls and catch up!

Then the adventure came.....

Ashley and I left Miranda's around 8:30pm it had been raining extremely hard! I mean it looked like what I would think a hurricane would look like! But we had to get home, so we started out, Ashley and I live about 45 minutes away from Miranda. We are driving along Midland following another car, it was impossible to see the road at times and I was just following the lights on the car in front; then they stopped! We wait a few minutes and drive a head of them to an intersection we then see why they stopped, the intersection looked like a lake!! Ashley gets out to see if we could go though, and we could not! She wades though the water and breaks a flip flop, lol, and says no we won't make it!

O my good ness! We turn around and head back to try and get on Rogers Ave., mind you all the way the water is rising! There were some stores and restaurants on Midland that had water to their front door! We are listing to the radio and KISR is saying "do not go on Rogers and/or Waldron, well great now what!? At this point I wanted to cry and Ethan was crying! So I call Brent he says get on the interstate and drive slow, we had already been on the road for over an hour I really just wanted to get home safe. So we get on the interstate and Ethan is hysterical at this point and he didn't have his MiMi 'binki' we pull off the interstate at the Zero St. exit to go to Wal-Mart for a mimi and it looks like a wet, flooded ghost town! No street lights, no parking lot lights at Wal-Mart and NO lights on in Wal-Mart! They are closed! Doors locked! At this point Ethan is really mad and Lucas is starting to get wimpy too. They are tired, hungry, and thirsty. We had no idea we'd be in the car this long and didn't have anything for them. Ashley gets Ethan calmed down and I give Lucas the last tiny bit of watered down sweet tea I had in my cup and we try and head home. Praying all the way!

Once we get on Highway 71 everything is looking good! We run into a few high spots but nothing impassable. The closer we get to Greenwood it is looking perfect! Wet roads but no standing water! Two hours from Miranda's house we get to my house, get the boys out and wait on James to come get Ashley and Ethan.

The boys were so hyper from being in the car all that time, they ran around like crazy for a while and James,Ashley, and Ethan left around 10:30pm!My mom had called me when she heard about the rain totals I of course didn't answer in all that so I called her back and told her we made it home. Pheew Brent, Lucas, and I head to bed at 11:30pm! Wow what a night!

Ashley's staus quote on facebook summed it up perfectly " That was a scary adventure! A 45 minute trip turned into a 2 1/2 hour trip with lots of rain, 2 blind girls, and a screaming kid! We made it home safe PTL!"

This is one of those things I will never forget and for many years I can say to Ashley "remember that time...."

Mommy's Day Weekend!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend. Lucas and Brent got me a plant and sweet card and Brent did some of my "chores" for me! I was so happy! I feel so SO blessed to be able to be a mom!

Saturday I had to get up bright and early to take Chip and Chloe to the vet. They did really good! And checked out healthy! Chloe was my first "baby" and I love her dearly! She has been with me though so much! She is 6 years old now and I can hardly believe that! Time goes by so fast.

Then Saturday afternoon we had Ethan's 2nd Birthday Party, Ethan's hair was long and he got his big boy hair cut, I was so sad. Ha! Lucas and Ethan have been friends from birth and I hope they will always be a part of each other's lives.

Micah, Ethan, and Luke. (Micah trying to escape!)

See the knot on his head?! He ran into a chair Friday night then hit it again in the same spot at the party Saturday. It looks so bad! We really need to get him a helmet!!

Saturday evening we spent some time with my mom (Luke calls her Mema). We went to Sam's and Hobby Lobby and got dinner at Chic-fil-a. Mom and I went to the cemetery and put some flowers down for Mema. We did pink roses, they were her favorite. I miss her most on days like these. Today is my mom's birthday and I know it's going to be a tough one.

In honor of Mother's Day and Mom's Birthday we had some family over last night for dinner.

I make the cake! Ha! Doesn't it look artistic? Mom loved it and it tasted very good even if it did look a little...umm different.

Mema C. brought me a Mother's Day gift, shoes of course! Ha, I just love her.

How did she know I've been wanting some of these.

Love em!

And believe it or not my little Wally World hydrangea bush produced this! I am really getting into this flower/gardening thing. So pretty. I love having fresh flowers with out having to go buy them.

And one more sweet Mother's Day picture.

Hoping all you mommies had a wonderful weekend!
