Easter {at my house}

Easter for us this year was very fun and relaxed!
Lucas and I got to stay home Friday so we ran a few errands with Mema then came home and played and watched movies. When Daddy got home we went out for some Chinese/sushi and then to visit the Easter bunny at the mall! Lucas loved him and got his picture taken.

Saturday we went to a big crawl fish boil that Brent's boss was having. It was a lot of fun, tons of kids and stuff for them to do. They hunted Easter eggs and got to see the Easter monkey! LOL!!

Sunday we had brunch at my house, the Easter bunny left Luke a bunch of goodies and so did Mema and Mema C we had a easy low key lunch and just hung around the house. Lucas played and I got to catch up with everyone. That evening we met aunt Melmo, uncle Jay and WayWay and Nana and Papaw at Chilis for dinner. The boys are really starting to be able to play now and it is about the cutest thing I have ever seen! I LOVE that Lucas has a cousin to share fun times with.

And that's about it!
No cute pictures in matching outfits, well really no pictures at all! I never took out my camera all weekend but sometimes it's more fun to just watch and take it all in :)

Hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend as well!

At a time when....

I think it is really starting to hit me that I am turning 25 this year! I am not a 'kid' anymore (not that I have been one in a while), I am someones wife forever, I am someones mom forever. I am a woman raising a family. I am blessed: yes but it is also so wild to think I am really living out my dream!

Some pictures to take a walk down memory lane.....

At a time when I only really 'loved' my best friends and my Chloe:

Brooke, Chloe and I. I was 19 or 20 in this picture. This was before I even knew Brent at my ol apartment.

At a time when Brent and I could go to weeknight basketball games in Fayetteville:

Brent and I at a Razorback game early in our 'dating'!

At a time when going to the bowling ally and not bowling was fun, just to be with friends after getting off work at 10 pm:

Jessica, Laura, and I. We are all 20 years old in this one!

At a time when Brent and I were so fresh yet so in love:

Brent and I's first Thanksgiving! Me-20 Brent- 27

At a time when staying up late at friends houses on New Years was easy:

Not the best picture quality I know but hey this was before iPhones and 'good' cameras :)

My week in pictures!

Dirty dishes from paying it forward. I made dinner for my best friend a few nights last week who had had surgery. When I was done and saw the pile of dishes I wanted to be frustrated, but instead I wasn't I saw something else this time.
When Brent was hurt from the deer/truck accident I had some very sweet ladies bring me meals. I told myself I would not let another time go by when I wouldn't do that for someone else. I am passing on their good deeds because they touched me so much.

It has been HOT around here! I can't decide if I like it or not to be honest with ya!

Lucas at the racetrack this weekend. He is getting so grown up and so easy! We had a lot of fun there this weekend.

While I was getting a suntan I took this one, the race car, I have a love/hate relationship with this beast :)

Lucas being silly last night, couldn't help but take a picture of this, notice the underware rolled up! Crack me up!

I've been taking it easy for the past few weeks, not doing much in the sense of extra activities just being with my boys, learning to exercise (can you believe that, I can't) keeping house and taking care of my pups. Life could not be better!

Now That I'm a Mommy

  • I always go the potty before I leave the office because I may not get to go again for a while and I surly won't get to go alone for the rest of the evening.

  • The fear of being thrown up or pooped on is gone. In fact I have worn pee pee on my clothes while out and it honestly doesn't bother me.

  • I don't judge other mommy's when I see a screaming kiddo, I have been there and will be there many more times!

  • I have learned to embrace being an early bird, I can get a ton of things done before 7 a.m. :)

  • Going to dinner with only adults is SUCH a treat!

  • I never try to go to the WalMart or Target without grabbing a buggy, that would just be crazy!

  • Taking a road trip to a zoo 2 hours away with 3 toddlers doesn't scare me at all, I am actually looking so forward to it!! Before I was a mommy this would have scared the mess out of me!

  • I know all about car seats, strollers, bottles, and lots of other baby gear. I know how to buckle about any car seat into any car, which I deem as a mad skill!

  • I know the full value of a 4 door car and even more so a vehicle with lots of extra room!

  • I keep baby wipes or 'wet ones' stashed EVERYWHERE!

  • A messy couch with blankets and pillows everywhere and a sink full of dishes doesn't bother me, my house is rarely clean at any given time it probably smells like dirt, sweat, and dog. I try not to worry about it; I have worked very hard to get to this point :)

Now that I'm a mommy my life is so full! Everyday is a new one and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Wordy Wednesday!

I came across this song by Jason Mraz recently. I think it's a really good one for all married couples. Some days/weeks/months are hard but truly it is not worth giving up on. Look this one up, download it, it's worth it folks!

"I won't give up"

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
There's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
Still looking up.

I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)
We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

Brain Tump

  • Thinking of my dear friend Desiree today as she goes in to surgery for her "lap band". I am very proud of her for making this decision for herself. Praying for a fast recovery!

  • Also praying for my sweet cousins family, she passed away after a fall on Sunday. I know they are all heart broken and I cannot quit thinking about them. She was a lovely lady, mother and grandmother. I know they are facing the hardest days with this sudden loss. Her name is Lucy please, please keep them in your prayers.

  • Brent told me yesterday at work a tool fell off the truck and fell onto him, knocked his hard hat off and it hit his arm. He said if he had not been wearing his hard hat (which he always does) it could have broke his neck. With all these recent "things" I cannot stop thinking about how amazingly precious life is and how it can come to an end so very quick. I have vowed to become a little more conscious of this and really try and change the way I am towards people. To be a little more understanding, softer, and to always give people the benefit of the doubt. I need to remember to be kind to my husband even when I don't want to and to be patient and loving with Lucas even when he is throwing fits and doing other not so nice things.

  • On a lighter note....

  • Lucas had his 3 year old check-up yesterday! Doctor said he is extremely healthy and has a very impressive vocabulary. He is 37 inches tall and 31 pounds, he is in the 50th percentile. Besides the rock in the nose incident he hasn't been to the doctor in over a year! I know I am so blessed with a healthy boy and I could not be more proud of him!

  • Cooper also had his 2nd puppy check-up and shots yesterday he weighs 11 and a half pounds now and is growing like a weed! My sweet little puppy is no more. Him and Luke love to wrestle, chase, and he is really into nipping whatever he comes into contact with!

  • We finally found a patio/deck/outside table set! I am very excited to be able to eat and/or entertain outside, we have really enjoyed it so far!

  • I colored my hair this weekend, back to my roots (literally) I loved the blonde but the up-keep just wasn't what I wanted right now. Pre-mommy time it wasn't a problem but being a busy mom it just didn't work. Too bad pre-mommy when I wanted to be blonde I was single and broke and now that I have the money I don't have the time, but isn't that how it goes! Makes me laugh....a little

I like how it turned out, not a soul has even noticed so it must be a gradual change but for summer I love the lighter pieces trying to peek though. I'll dye it again in about 6 weeks so it will get darker. The process may take a few more times but hoping for the end result will look something like this! I'll be workin on her tan too ;)

  • We are seriously looking into a kitchen re-do, I am really liking the butcher block counter top! We finally decided to just go with a neutral tile in the kitchen, entry way, and bathrooms and do new carpet in the rest of the house (once Cooper is completely potty trained). I am kinda bummed we aren't doing hardwood but this isn't our forever home (I hope) and it would just cost way to much and then having to leave it would make me sick! Anywho we are now trying to agree decide on cabinets and counter tops.....

  • Guess that will be it folks, hope you are having a good week!
