I dance....

Yesterday was a hard day, I will tell you more on that at a later time.

I relieved the stress one of the best and only way I know how to really relieve stress. I dance.

Many, many people do not know this about me, in fact I believe Lucas may be the only one to know about my ritual. Ha!

But when I am down,sad,stressed I put on some tunes and let loose. I have no rhythm, or at least that's what my mom used to say when I was 13 and used to practice dancing backup for MTV, ha!


But really I can't dance, I don't "like" to dance. I will never dance at weddings or in the car, I don't dance with my husband on romantic nights. I dance to get it out. I guess I like the physical activity.

So last night Luke and I danced, we probably danced to 5 songs straight right there in his room. He loves it. He goes crazy too and almost always asks for more. It's our little "thing" I guess.

It may not be pretty and it sure isn't perfect but to me it is beautiful.

Weekend Recap!

Friday we called and ordered our new bed!! It won't be here for 2 more weeks but I am happy that it is on it's way nonetheless. This is mine and Brent's first real bed together! ha! Our bedroom is usually the last one that gets any attention so I am happy to see it come together.

Friday evening we went over to my uncle's house for dinner with my mom, we had a lot of fun and got to catch up.

Saturday we went and had lunch at Chick fil a and ran some errands, Lucas got to spend some of his Birthday money at Toys R Us and then we went to fly some kites at the park!

Lucas got a Cars kite for his birthday and Brent had one from a few years ago.

Luke's kite flew like a dream! It stayed up forever, can't say the same for Brent's it had a good run but the wind got to be too much for it.

Sunday afternoon we had a baby shower to go to. After the shower we came home and settled in. Since it was just Luke and I for dinner we had a fridge clean out night and ate while we watched some of Luke's favorite shows. This kid loves Family Guy, I know it's not the most wholesome programming but I can't say no when he asks to watch Peter pronounced "Petta" So funny! Usually him and daddy watch all the Sunday night cartoons but I was all he had :)





We had a fun weekend now if this week will just go by fast so I can get on to the next one!

It's The Little {Simple} Things....

Luke's birthday card garland, I just can't seem to take it down. All the other decorations have been gone for days but this one makes us so happy.

Pre-bagging all of Luke's lunch snacks so making lunch is almost easy :)
Why don't I do this every week?



Riding home everyday this week with my sunroof open, the weather has been amazing and reminds me why I love Arkansas, 70 degrees in February!



My newest photo of my boys, I got a few inquiries at the party this weekend about it, so I thought I would share. All it is, is an old frame I found in my attic and a poster print, not picture but poster on photo paper you can get from the wal mart website the 11x16 that this one is was $10!!

So this large nice framed picture cost me $10!! Wow hard to believe for sure.

I have also learned recently that I like having a few large nice statement type family pictures rather than have 500 small ones all over my living room like some sort of Lucas shrine ha! Which is what I have always had up until this point.

A house that is ever evolving keeps me happy too and a hubby who lets me change things up isn't too bad either :)

Tidbits for Thursday!

• I still have my Christmas header up and it is March! In my defence it's the latest family picture we have! Gonna get that changed soon.....
  




• The Subway commercial on right now "$5 Footlong" Lucas sings as "Five Dollars Football" cracks me up every time!
  




• Lucas' outfit he wore on his birthday, love the linen pants! Something about boy's spring clothes makes me just melt!







• The kids sale is coming up next week, drop offs for co-signers is this weekend!! I have SO much work to do to get all Luke's stuff ready :/
  




• Tuesday night Lucas told me he had a rock in his nose and sure enough he did!! I tried my best to get it out but just couldn't, I was scared of hurting him and he wouldn't sit still ha! We waited on Daddy to get home and he tried and few tricks bobby pin, pepper, straw, etc. and nothing. We ended up at the doctors office yesterday morning a little crying and a little blood and it was out!! What a relief! Poor sweet Lucas he was so proud of that rock though!
  
  




• Lucas picked out this cookie cake to take to his class on Friday for his birthday treat, I was originally going to take the same cupcakes that were at his party but once he saw "Mater" I just couldn't say no :)

• Picture of the puppies sleeping quietly. Cooper loves this sun spot and always sleeps in it.

• Cute Oreo's Lucas and I made for his party! Loved the way they turned out! I hope to have all the party pictures up soon!

• We ordered our new fridge this week! I am SO very excited! The fridge is the last kitchen appliance we had to purchase, now we can start on the floors or cabinets!!

• Next week is going to be a HARD week and I am not looking forward to it :/

{Ramblings}

Life....


Isn't life funny.... and completely amazing and exhausting and wonderful!


Growing up I thought adult life was full of rainbows and tons of fun! I just knew I would marry a rich guy and have lots of kids and lots of pets. That's what my Barbies had anyway.


As I turned into a teenager I thought I would go off to college and make a career for myself, I never knew what it would be but it was what everyone else planned to do so it sounded pretty good.


During high school I started working at a home decor store at the mall and completely fell in love with decorating. When I graduated I started working full time and taking on more responsibilities at the store but thought I was still "supposed" to go to collage so I enrolled at the local collage and took some night classes, never going far at school at all. But I sure loved working, I loved decorating even more and started to learn about myself. I learned collage wasn't for me, I learned I like to work and I am good at it but most of all I realized I wanted a home and a family.


All this to say sometimes where we end up is no where close to how we thought it would be. I don't have the prefect marriage, I don't have a big house, Lucas is a boy and makes messes daily,my pets drive me batty, and some days are just flat out hard!


But with all the hard and all the messes I am so thankful this is my life. I love my passionate husband, I love my little house because it's ours, I love that Lucas wants to learn by doing things himself, I love my fur babies so very much, I love the way things have turned out for me, I am so very blessed.


Recently I have had to take a step back, a step back from my extracurricular activities, a step back from social networking, a step back from trying to be perfect, that is the hardest one for me. I want everything to be perfect. I was doing pretty good until a few days before Luke's birthday party. I kept telling myself "it's not going to be perfect so don't break your back trying to make it that way" but I failed, big time, I took everything out on Brent and we were at each other's throats all weekend, I worked really hard on Friday and was exhausted, and I hate that I did that to myself, I hate that I did that to us.


What I can say is that I have learned from this. I will spend the next month making it up to Brent and next year I will try again. Because no one is perfect and one thing is for sure I will never be.

Lucas You Are 3!!

Oh my sweet baby, are we really here? are you really turning 3 today!? I can hardly believe it!

3 years ago today at 6:08 p.m. we were blessed beyond measure, you were born and our hearts were changed forever.

Lucas you are such a good boy, your Dad and I love you more than life and I hope you will always know that.

You are so smart and so caring to others. You make us laugh every single day! You love all kinds of people and rarely meet a stranger, you are such a joy! You make my heart explode with your hugs and snuggles and your "it's ok momma" when you think I'm hurt or sad.

You try my patiences when you want to do everything yourself and your fits if things just aren't the way you think they should be.
You love your family and your pets (even thought I'm convinced you've almost loved Cooper to death some days) and you love your friends at school and your teacher so much. You get along with anyone and everyone and you think everyone was put here to be your friend. I hope you always have this way with people, you will be such a blessing to others with this gift.

I pray you never let judgement from others change you.

You love to play basketball and love your cars.

My Weekend {in pictures well of course}

We started off our weekend early with a little fun!
Thursday after school we went and got a car wash! Lucas loves doing this, it's so funny!



Then we got to go to a little bounce place in town with Ethan for a little while! We had a lot of fun! Of course the boys found a basketball and only really wanted to play with that the entire time, ha!






Friday night Brent had to stay out of town for work so we got to try out "Facetime" for the first time since he's had his iPhone 4, all I can say is so. much. fun. I really enjoyed being able to see him and Lucas loved it too!




Saturday we checked the mail and Lucas had Birthday card from some out of town family and look what was inside! He was very excited!

Nap time for Luke and I got a lot done around the house for the upcoming birthday bash!!

O this puppy! So sweet lookin but quite the little terror and we haven't even hit the chewing stage yet!

Saturday evening I worked on some pom poms for the party, Brent thinks they are girly so I'm not sure if I will use them or not but they were fun to make and SO easy!

Ethan came over to play Sunday afternoon this was a rare shot of them being sweet, ha!

Last night we grilled burgers and Brent had some guys over to watch some racing, I got banned to the bedroom but that was OK by me, got to watch some shows in peace and quiet with my puppy :)

We had a great weekend, I have a long week ahead of me in preparation for Luke's Birthday weekend coming up!
