Big Ol' Birthday!

After the recent passing of my Mema a few weeks ago (Feb 15th) I needed a good time, I think we all did and who better to do that then Lucas!

Lucas turned 2 on Feb 25th and man did we party! He had a GREAT time and from the pictures I think everyone else did too!

The morning of his Birthday before School! He was not to happy about having his picture taken ;)

Blowing out the candles! He did so good and didn't need any help!

Pinata time!

Get the candy!! They thought this was the funnest thing! 2 year olds and candy falling from the sky- priceless!!

Present time! He loves his Mickey that Mema C. got him!

Keyboard that Papa got him! (Thanks Papa, ya meanie)

Had to sneak in a picture of Mommy's awesome decorating ;)

Eatting off the "Nerd Buffet"
Aunt "Melmo" Kristin got him a big box of nerds so he decided to share with everyone! This was so cute and someone started calling it the nerd buffet! Hilarious!

After the party inside with is new train and hat that Miranda made him!

He had the best Birthday Party! He has no idea how spoiled he is and how many people love him I truly thank God for that!

You are the joy I could never have imagined! You are so smart and so full of personality just like your daddy, which can be hard at times but I love it! You never meet a stranger and love everyone I pray that never changes. YOU are the one who has made me want to know God I will forever be grateful to you for that. You look just like me and have my chubby cheeks and I can't imagine you any other way. You are my brightest light and I hope you always know that.
I am So, So grateful to be your mommy.

Sunday Afternoon Daydreaming.....

I absolutely love days like today, where I have no where to go and nothing to do, just be. It is such a nice day, I've got my windows open and the breeze is amazing! I can here my wind chime! I have missed that.

We got up early like we have been doing for about a month and now to go to Church, well Brent wasn't feeling good at all and said he didn't feel like going, my first thought is "O great I hope Lucas doesn't start feeling sick!" So I decided Lucas and I would stay home too just in case, I'd hate for Lucas to take it to the nursery and get all the little ones sick! So we have just had a nice day at home.

Brent finally got to feeling good enough to go and work on the new motor home and I'm supposed to go in a few hours and help him. I want to clean up the inside and replace hardware and light fixtures! I'm pretty excited to do it, I love redoing that kind of stuff!

I've been punching numbers on our debt and I am so excited that we are paying off most of it this year! That includes cars but not house. We will only have a tiny amount come this time next year (if all goes to plan, ha!) so then next year we can start beefing up our savings! Neither Brent nor I are savers so that will be a challenge but my dream is to be able to stay at home with our next baby (I'm not pregnant, just planning for the future :) and stay home at least until all my babies are in kindergarten! Gosh saying that I cannot imagine having school age kids! I can't wait!

We have a busy springtime coming up :)
  • Tomorrow night we have a Valentines dinner at Chic-fil-a with Lucas' school!
  • Wednesday I am going to work in the church nursery ! I have NEVER worked in a daycare or nursery before! Wish me luck!
  • Friday my little nephew Waylon is coming over for the first time to stay the evening! Can't wait to see him!
  • Saturday I have my pot luck and play date! (I'm doing these once a month for a few girlfriends and their tots)
  • Sunday after Church, we will be back on the hunt for a new couch! I am so excited to be shopping for this even if it is taking forever!
  • Friday the 25th is Lucas' Birthday and Birthday Party at school and at home! He is going to be wore out!
  • Saturday the 26th Jessica and I are going to Bentonville to hear Angie Smith speak!! We are also doing a little shopping of course ;)
  • March I have the Growing Kids Sale I always consign with and volunteer for!
  • April my friend Miranda is have her very own Craft Event that I will be selling soup and crafties at!
  • No to mention the weekends I don't have anything going on I will be at the track with the boys!

Wheew! Hope I can remember all this!! But I do love this time of year!

Friday night Brent and I went on a "date" we haven't got to do that in a while! Lucas got to stay with Aunt Genia who he loves! We ended up going to eat at MarketPlace and then headed to the theater to see a movie. We were going to see the new Adam Sandler movie, we didn't even think of it being sold out!! Let me say this happened to us the last time we went to see a movie, a year ago!! So aggravating! But we ended up doing some clothes and birthday shopping for Lucas. Funny how when we are supposed to be on a date for ourselves we always end up doing something for Lucas ha!, I love that! We had a GREAT time and I am so glad we didn't go see the movie, we got to chat and shop without a fit throwing *alomst* 2 year old ;)

Hope you have a wonderful week!

We got pounded again with 7 inches of snow today!! That's a lot of stinkin snow! Of course NorthWest Arkansas got 20 inches!!

Lucas was out of school today and will be out again tomorrow, I'm hoping I can stay home with him too!

Lucas and Daddy in the snow!

And Chloe having the best time! I never knew she loved the snow so much, guess she's not such an old lady after all :)

Stay Warm!!

We got a ton of snow yesterday! Around 5 inches! Lucas and I went out to see it. He calls all things snowy "snowman" it is so cute I hate to correct him. He kept looking out the window and wanted so bad to go play with the "snowman."
We will be having a quiet weekend around the house just hoping to make it to church tomorrow and I will be happy!

SUYL - What do you feed your kids?

Over at Kelly's Korner she is doing Show Us Your Life Fridays and today is What do you feed your kids? I thought I'd join in so I could document what Luke is eating these days.

Lucas is getting to be a picky eater here lately which I don't really like :) but he eats more than some kids I know. His absolute favorite thing right now is peaches, he loves those little cups of peaches and eats at least one a day!

Lucas and Daddy also eat an apple together after dinner every night, he loves apples too!

Meats are something we struggle with! He will eat chicken nuggets... sometimes and he will eat a "burder"(hamburger)....sometimes we just never know. The one meat I can get him to eat all the time is his turkey lunch meat. I know probably not the best option but at least he's eating something!

And of course like his mommy he is a candy eater! I craved and ate candy the entire time I was pregnant and he loves it to this day! Chocolate candy, fruity candy, it doesn't matter we both love it! I limit our his candy intake pretty well but it was hard around the holidays and I'm expecting it will be hard with Valentines Day approaching!

(Lucas at 9 months)
Some other things he likes- yogurt, applesauce, HOMEMADE mac and cheese, rice-but not Mexican, loves milk and juice and water even, plain bread, green beans- but only if mommy makes them :), crackers, and most cookies, french fries and tater tots, ice cream, bananas, some cereals.

Fun Snow Days!

For the past 2 days we have been snowed in the house, we as in Luke and I, Brent went ahead and went to work today. All schools have been closed so that includes Luke's preschool. I know a lot of folks hate the snow and ice but I love love love it! I am always looking for an excuse to stay home with Luke :) even if the power had gone out I would have treated it like an adventure and camped in front of the fireplace but we were lucky and didn't have any power outages in my town! Anyways here are some pictures!

Best Buds (not so sure Chloe would say so though)

I made my cat Callie come in from outside because of the weather so she finds the highest place in the house to hang out, I'm afraid to say she is terrified of Lucas!

Ethan and his mommy Ashley came over for a spur of the moment play date this afternoon, I am so glad she did I think the boys needed it!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe snow day!
