O the Joys....
Of having a 2 year old!! ( a bullet post)
- We are currently embarking on the potty training thing! He has done very well! And will tell me when he has to go, and he even stayed dry all night last night! Going #2 has proven to be a challenge though. But I am so proud of him! Daddy was a little sad when I came home with pull-ups instead of diapers! He was the same way with the binki! Too funny!
- This morning I bumped my elbow in the fridge getting the milk out and I must have said ouch or Ooo or something he came up to me and said "What wrong Momma" So Sweet!
- Also this morning on the way to school we were listening to the radio and sometimes I'm a bad parent and turn over to KISR to see what is playing, haha! Can't seem to give up that guilty pleasure! Anyway! No Doubt "Hey Baby" was on and Lucas started singing along "Hey Baby, Hey Baby, Hey" I almost busted up laughing but I don't want him to be embarrassed about singing so I just smiled!
- We are currently going though some jealousy issues when we see baby Waylon or when I work in the nursery at church. Those are the times I am thinking twice about another one anytime soon! (although some days the bug truly gets me :)
- Lucas is defiantly in the "terrible twos" almost every evening when we get home from school he has melt down after melt down! It has really started making me feel guilty again about him having to be at preschool so much :(
- Lucas is really into daddy's racing! He is telling all his friends and teachers and anyone else who will listen " Daddy go fast"
No one could have prepared me on what an amazing experience it is to see babies and kids grow and learn! It is so neat!

Some Randoms.....
Just a few thoughts I'd like to jot down :)
- First I just want to say I linked to the Nester for National Take a Risk Day! I'm kinda proud of my self for that! Ha! My risk of course is my new Ikea sofa! Which by the way I am STILL in love with and she stops me dead in my tracks some days!
- I am considering a FaceBook "Spring Break" I'm truly contemplating weather FB has a genuine place in my life. So next week I am going to try and not be on FB at. ALL!
- I am planning a baby shower for my best friend Desiree who is having baby Eviee in July. I have a lot of plans written down and will post pictures along the way! (she doesn't read my blog :( so the surprise won't be ruined, ha!)
- Last night I was making Strawberry Shortcake and I asked Lucas if he wanted a strawberry he said "No Straw-be" the cutest thing! I will be asking him the rest of the week if he wants a strawberry so I can hear him say that!

First Trip to IKEA!
This weekend we headed to Dallas, Tx! We had been in the market for a new couch for months and just couldn't find what we wanted anywhere around that was in our price range, after much research we decided to take a trip to the nearest IKEA store! We Brent was pretty skeptical on the quality and comfort of an IKEA couch but thought we'd give it a shot!
We had my mom come down and keep Lucas for the day and we headed out at about 6 am! It was a 4 and a half hour drive to the store but it really wasn't bad it was nice to get to talk and hang out, just me and Brent.
We got there at about 10:45, I was SO excited! I'm pretty sure Brent wanted to bonk me over the head, I was so ready to see what this place was about!
We walked in and went up to the escalator and there it was! The couch! We both plopped down and looked at each other I was smiling from ear to ear! I loved it, Brent did too! I couldn't believe it! It was firm but not to firm, it wasn't small and chincy like I had feared and the fabric felt wonderful!! We sat down a few more times for good measure and then went to find a sales person so we could get the "paper work" done. But we had forgot one thing.... what color should we get! I was really set on a "light" color the white or beige, Brent was really against a "light" color, whooops! So after some contemplating and bargaining we decided on the beige. Yay!!
After we got what we came for we went and looked around this massive store! It was so neat! Defiantly worth going to see weather you need anything or not! I can't wait to go back, maybe next year!? Ha!
Everything was so easy! When I thought of a self serve store I was picturing a mess! But no they have everything worked out to a T! It was a total experience and so fun! And putting the couch together was super easy!
Next we went on into Dallas to eat at Spaghetti Warehouse, it was really really good! Old fashion Italian food, can't get better than that!
We walked around a bit then headed back to load up the couch and head home.
And here she is!!
(the blue table will be painted white, just trying out colors :))

(edited to add this picture 3/18)
I am so loving this thing! I have already fallen asleep on it countless times and I absolutely love the way it looks!
We bought a ottoman too at the store but I love my coffee table now, so I will just switch those out every now and then. Amazing what a new couch can do for a living room!

Spring Cleaning Anyone?
Look what I did yesterday! I cleaned out my junk drawer in my kitchen!
O. MY. Gosh! I do not know why I feel the need to have all this junk around! Not only in my junk drawer but in every room of my house! There will be some major Spring Cleaning taking hold in the next few weeks at my place!
But I had a little time before I went to the nursery so I thought I'd use my time wisely, for once :)
Here she is before!
Look at all of that! Most of it hasn't been touched in months or maybe years!
I found some paper to line the drawer with, I got this from my Mema C. when she was doing some spring cleaning (O the horrible cycle) a while back and have been wanting a place to use it!
It is old lingerie drawer paper, I thought it was so pretty!
And here is the after!
Took out all my old, yucky, cheap looking white baskets and put in some "real" baskets I got from goodwill eons ago ;)
Love how it turned out! Now I won't run and hide when I need to get the scissors out! Ha!

Weekend Round-Up!
We had a fun filled weekend! LOTS going on around our house right now, here are some of the things we have been up to!
Friday evening after work I went and worked at the big Growing Kids Sale we have here in town twice a year. This was the 2nd time I've volunteered, and if you volunteer you get first pick of all the stuff! It's a pretty good deal really!
Saturday I went and picked mom up and we went to lunch and then went to Sam's to get my new iPhone they had it a little bit cheaper than AT&T did and every dollar counts to me!! I am in love with this phone I went ahead and got the iPhone 4 for the flash on the camera. All my pictures in this post are with it.
This is Lucas after our trip to Sam's or the "big Wal-Mart" as he calls it!
Sunday we went to the racetrack for Brent's first race of the season! He didn't win any rounds but he is qualifying for points this season. I am so proud of him for still pursuing his passion while working and taking care of us!
Lucas LOVES going to the racetrack! The cars have never scared him much and he doesn't even bat an eye anymore at the noise. He even takes naps while we are there! Brent's cousin said yesterday "it takes a true racer to be able to sleep at the track" Ha! Yea Lucas will defiantly be racing some I can tell.
Lucas and Daddy by the car!
Chloe got to go too! Her and Lucas are becoming inseparable it's really cute! They have really started looking out for each other!
Funny story:
I took Chloe to get groomed on Saturday and when we pulled up to the groomer I got Chloe out and left Lucas in the car ( the drop off spot isn't but maybe a foot from the door and they had the doors open so I felt that Lucas was OK) I didn't think anything of it but when I got back in the car Lucas was crying "Chloe, where's Chloe!" I kept telling him she's just getting a bath and she will be back in a little bit, I was also trying not to laugh because it was kinda funny and SO cute. I never dreamed he would be that upset! My only guess is he might think she was going where Corben is and wouldn't be coming back.
But when we picked her up he was so glad to see her! Melts my heart!
