The Highchair

Photobucket

You are looking at the very last piece of "baby furniture" in our house now.

And all this week Lucas has sat in a "real" chair during dinner and when he is coloring. I am so sad, it looks like we could put this in the attic with all the other baby paraphernalia.
He is also using the potty all by himself he goes in pulls down his pants, goes (catches up on his race car reads), empties the potty into the big potty, and flushes. All. by. himself. I just really don't know what to think of that. I'm not ready to stop buying diapers! The only thing that is getting me through this time is I want more, more babies. I honestly don't know how much of an emotional wreck I will be with my very last little one.

And then during all the excitement and sadness I felt about all this last night, at 2 am I hear a faint sound that I haven't heard in months and months. Lucas was in his bed crying for me. It took me a minute to fully grasp what was going on I went in a scooped him up, and took him back to my bed and laid there thinking for at least an hour.

I have been dwelling on how fast he is growing up and how much less he is starting to need me but he is still little and he does still need me but it is going to turn into a different way. Instead of changing diapers and kissing boo boos I am starting to see where I will have to really listen to what he is saying and needing and what is going on his world and trying my very best to teach him right from wrong.

This is such a crazy ride being a mom and all, it's the biggest most exciting roller coaster ride I think I will ever be on. But most days are so fun and I couldn't see myself anywhere else.

I am so blessed that I am able to be his mommy. He is the smartest, silliest, most handsome little boy I know and I have to remember to thank God for him everyday.

What I'm reading lately....

Photobucket

True Love is....

  • True love is giving baby a bath after a long hard day at work so I can finish up the dishes and relax after a not so long hard day at the office.

  • True love is being able to love me, laugh with me, and smile at me just minutes after learning of a big financial mistake I made.

  • True love is sleeping under a floral blanket when you hate flowers.

  • True love is making me feel like you really do love my post baby body.

  • True love is reading all my blog posts because you want to even though they probably bore you to tears.

  • True love is encouraging your son to play with a baby doll and helping me find a 'binki' for it.

  • True love is getting on the floor to play with Lucas even when you are exhausted from driving all day.

  • True love is taking me out to eat when you get home from being gone all week even though you'd prefer a home cooked meal.

  • True love is supporting me in whatever 'side jobs' I am attempting at the time.

  • True love is dealing with cat hair when you despise cats.

  • True love is never leaving with out kissing me goodbye no matter what!

  • True love is ALWAYS being there when you are needed.

  • True love is being a good man so our son has someone great to look up to.

Head Board Help!

Our master bedroom as been pretty neglected for uh er almost 3 years now, sad but true. We moved in with what we had and didn't put much thought or worry into "our" room. But now that I have the rest of the house squared away, it's never "done" around here I want to really focus on making our room comfortable and very usable. Getting new bedding has my head a spinnin and I can't wait to add more to it!

We pretty much have everything we want furniture wise. Brent has his dresser from his Granny that he loves, I have my new nightstand, and his bedside table works great, with the t.v. now hung on the wall I want to get a better dresser for myself, just something taller, and we have a small chair by the window that will stay until baby #2. So now I just need to figure out the whole headboard situation. We have never had a headboard so I am working with nothing! I don't want a bedroom suite so I just want to find something that I love for us, it doesn't have to be new but it does have to be comfortable! And building something is not out of the question, I have super hubby ;)

Love this! But I could see Lucas jumping on the bed and hitting this and it falling down.

Love Love Love this one!

This was the idea we have always had, kinda plain though.....

I like this, it's different and I'm not sure I could pull it off.

Another one we had always thought we wanted.

Absolutely love this, not so sure Brent would agree though.

Really love this gate idea but again not sure it's the best option for a bunch of jumping littles!

OK now your thoughts? Any suggestions? Do tell!!

Weekend Recap!

Friday night Brent and I got to go on our weekly date night! We are loving getting to spend a few hours together doing something WE want to do. This week we went to eat at Chilli's because Brent owed me and then went to TJ Maxx to see if they had any good sheet sets. We ended up finding a sheet set and a new blanket for our bed! So of course that inspired a whole new room redo!

I also went over to mom's house on Saturday to get my Mema's nightstand that she gave me. I just love it! It's the one on the left, my side. It has two drawers and two doors for storage. Brent also hung the t.v. on the wall so we can see it better, it's so nice! I am in the market for a new chest of drawers to put under it. The one I currently have is quite squatty so I need at least a 5 drawer but would like a 6. So I will be on the hunt for that! When I find that and decide what to do for the head board I will post more pictures! Fun stuff :)

Lucas is loving his new bed too, stinker never sleeps in his bed anymore!

Sunday Lucas and I got up early and went to the McDonald's Playplace with Ethan and Ashley. The boys had fun! And Ashley and I got to catch up on the week.

Sunday evening we had some family over and my father in law made Chinese food! It was so yummy and Brent's aunt Dana made egg rolls also so good!

Brent and his two favorite boys!

Lucas and 'Baby Mikey' this was Brent's Cabbage Patch doll when he was little Lucas has been really into 'taking care of' his baby lately. He wants to change his diaper, give him a bottle and a binki it's just the sweetest thing! I hope Lucas will always be this caring.

We had a great weekend and spent it with the ones that matter most!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Top 10 Moments in My Life

" Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away"

  • Our wedding day, I was so happy and excited to be joining our family as one.

  • Lucas' birthday, nuff said!

  • The day I 'adopted' my Chloe, she is truly my best friend and has been there with me though a lot and the day Brent took me to pick out Corben, I miss that brown bear so much.

  • The day we took Lucas to beach for the first time. To me there is no better place to be on earth and I was thrilled to get to share that with my baby.

  • The day I bought my brand new car, by myself I might add.

  • The day I graduated high school, what a long road!

  • The night Brent proposed to me, it was an absolute fairy tale!

  • The day we found out we would be having a baby boy! We just knew we wanted a girl, God really does know best!

  • Leaving my mom to spend 2 weeks in California with Desiree in 9th grade.

  • Standing in my new apartment on the day I moved out with my mom as she was leaving.

And because I couldn't just pick 10...

  • The night I picked Brent up from the airport in Tulsa when he had been in Colorado for 3 weeks working. I was big and pregnant and I had never been happier to see him!

And now I have tears rolling down my face at work.

What are your top 10 moments? I would love to know, post on your blog, leave them in the comment section or email me!

A Trip to the RaceTrack!

Saturday we all got up early and headed to the racetrack! It was nice to get away for a day, we hadn't been since Brent started his new/old job so he was really itchin to go :)

I thought it was going to be miserably hot but to our surprise the weather was not bad! Not much sun and a breeze almost all day!

Lucas and Daddy checking the tire pressure.

Even with the decent weather I was still so glad we brought the motor home with us! It really does spoil you, Brent and I both mentioned I don't think we could do it without the motor home ever again! ha!

Lucas in the 'bus'

We didn't get home until really really late Saturday night, 1:00 am to be exact so we spent all day Sunday lounging around the house and catching up on chores.

I love spending time with my boys, another fun weekend I was sad to see go!

Tonight I am taking Lucas to the pet store to get a fishy! He doesn't know it yet and is going to be so excited!
